Industries Worked In

Leveraging experience from different roles, adapting fast, and making things work across sectors.

Ready? Let’s go:

1. Led the marketing team at SmallSmall, a techstars-backed proptech company revolutionizing how the next generation in Nigeria accesses and experiences housing.

2. Was Marketing and Growth Manager at Conclase, where I played a pivotal role in the company’s expansion, leading the launch and growth of Conclase Academy, an edtech in Nigeria that’s become a bridge between tech education and the tech industry. After this, I briefly led the marketing team at Semicolon, a digital transformation company.

3. I’ve written two books – “A Wall Is Just A Wall”, a thriller published by Bahati Books, UK in 2018, and “Selling Weed To The Police,” a deep dive into understanding target audiences and consumer behaviour, published in 2020.

4. I am a DevOps Engineer and a WordPress web designer too. I know, I know, what’s a marketing guy doing poking his head into DevOps and websites? Simple answer is that at some point, tech guys frustrated me so much with unreported (un-owned) downtimes that affected our lead generation efforts so much and so badly that I chased down downtime trackers/monitors and site reliability solutions myself. It was that search that led me down the rabbit hole to DevOps engineering and everything else that came after. You can read a detailed post I made about this here.

5. I send out a weekly newsletter that covers a range of topics from the latest in marketing to helpful tips and insights to friendly banters and takes on trending issues and more. This newsletter is a reflection of my commitment to continuous learning, starting conversations, and sharing knowledge with a wider community.

6. I’m married to an awesome Akwa Ibom woman that has made my life so beautiful since she walked in. I can’t confirm or deny that she was standing over me while I wrote this part.

7. I love reading and have an inseparable relationship with my Kindle. I’m also genre-agnostic, which means I read everything. So you can drop me a book, newsletter or author/writer recommendation and I’d do the same.

8. I love football and support Manchester United through thick and thin. Mostly thin these days. I also believe in the football supremacy of Cristiano Ronaldo.

9. I love pets and have a 9-year old German Shepherd called Nala. She’s not just a pet, but the family’s lastborn.

10. I believe in making connections and friends, whether professionally or through shared interests like football, love for pets, books, or something else I’m yet to discover.

11. I run a community for professionals who work in marketing, sales, business development, product, creatives, and tech, called: Them. Yeah, like “If you can’t beat Them, join Them.” We share ideas, opportunities, trainings, events and more. If that’s something that interests you, you can join here.
